Product details

TOFU TKL R2
GB date: July 15 - August 15, 2026
Estimated shipping date: Q4, 2026
The TOFU series draws its design inspiration from the purity and versatility of its namesake. Its philosophy is one of minimalism, featuring clean, architectural lines reminiscent of a simple block of tofu. It is a design that strips away the superfluous, returning to the fundamental essence of a typing instrument. As the latest evolution of this legacy, the Tofu TKL embraces this spirit of adaptability. Mirroring the culinary diversity of tofu, the TKL offers a choice of distinct case materials—Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and Copper. This allows each enthusiast to craft a keyboard that perfectly matches their personal preference for weight, sound, and feel, creating an experience that is uniquely their own.
What's new in R2?
Top case outer profile: The outer corner radius (R-angle) of the top case has been increased from R0.5 to R1. Top case inner bezel: The inner profile transition of the top case has been changed from a chamfer (C-angle) to a fillet (R-angle). Silicone dampeners: The silicone dampeners are now inserted into the top case instead of the plate. Daughterboard cover: The material has been changed from wood to anodized aluminum, featuring an engraved icon. Exclusive colorways: The three limited-edition colors—Warm Silver with HTM(Horizontal Textured Mark), Celadon with HTM, and Muted Teal with HTM—now feature a horizontal textured finish.
Case Design
Craftsmanship & Finish
Expertly crafted, the Tofu TKL case comes in two premium finishes. Choose the silky-smooth feel of sandblasted anodized aluminum or the fine, matte texture of our rich E-coating. Both perfectly highlight the case's clean, sculpted lines. Structural Integrity
Internally, the Tofu TKL carries forward the minimalist design heritage of the TOFU family while introducing a versatile dual-mounting system. This allows users to choose between a classic TOP Mount for a firm, responsive feel, or a PCB Gasket Mount for a softer, more flexible typing experience, catering to diverse preferences. Visual Language
Visually, the Tofu TKL introduces a bold design language. The bottom case features an exposed rear accent, splitting the USB port face into two distinct sections. This innovative construction enables striking two-tone color combinations, both immediately captivating and enduringly timeless.
Integrated Force Break System
The design includes custom-molded Force Break silicone pads. These pads create a buffer between case components, effectively dampening case vibration and eliminating unwanted metallic "ping," ensuring a cleaner sound.

Statement Regarding TOFU TKL Stonewashed Case
Please note that due to the nature of the stonewashing process, where metal interacts with stone, some abrasion on sharp corners may occur. This is a normal result of the manufacturing process. We strive to maintain strict quality control; however, it is impossible to completely prevent minor wear on sharp edges. We recommend handling the case with care and avoiding hard impacts to prolong its service life. We appreciate your support and understanding.
QC Standard
Upon receipt, the casing is considered acceptable if all six external surfaces (top, bottom, left, right, front, and back) are free from machining marks, stains, dents, and pinholes, and do not have any black dots larger than 1mm or scratches longer than 1mm.
The copper weight is considered acceptable if it does not have any black dots, pinholes, or blemishes larger than 1mm, and no scratches longer than 2mm.
Flaws and manufacturing artifacts that do not affect the overall external appearance are considered reasonable. This includes, but is not limited to: minor blemishes around screw holes, uneven internal coating, hook marks (from anodizing/painting) where the base color is exposed, and water marks, tool marks, or scratches on internal surfaces. Purchasing this product means you accept these terms.
Due to the significant weight difference between the top and bottom case parts, there may be slight color variations even when the same color is chosen for both.
Standards for RAW Finish
The RAW version is anodized and uncoated. It preserves the original look of the machined metal, including natural tool marks.
Acceptable Quality Standards (Not covered by warranty):
1. Minor scratches, tool paths, and small speck-like imperfections.
2. Variations in surface reflection or slight dark spots on the raw metal.
(RAW products are not sold as "flawless." By purchasing, you acknowledge and accept the inherent characteristics of this manufacturing process.)

Mounting Style
PCB Gasket mount
Engineered for Softness
Following a similar support distribution as the TOP Mount, the PCB Gasket is designed to provide a maximally soft, bouncy, and flexible typing experience.
Plateless Build Potential
Combine this mount with the solderable PCB to assemble your board without a plate. This "plateless" configuration is the ultimate choice for achieving maximum flex and a unique, deep sound profile.
Top mount
Optimized TOP Mount Structure
To minimize resonance and hollowness, the mounting points for the TOP structure are strategically placed to avoid the spacebar area. This results in a more uniform and satisfying sound signature.
Plate-Mount Silicone Dampeners
Silicone dampeners provide complete physical decoupling of the positioning plate from the upper housing. This design mitigates resonance conduction at its origin, significantly reducing structural noise

FAQs
Can I use KBD8X MKIII or VENOM HE PCBs with this board?
VENOM HE PCB is compatible, but we need to use our own daughterboard
What is the latency for the wired and dual-mode PCBs? Is the dual-mode latency significant?
The latency is 1.25ms for MX-style switches and 0.125ms for magnetic switches. As expected, the latency in dual-mode (wireless) will be slightly higher than in single-mode (wired).
Can I request a different color after making a purchase?
This pre-order is for our standard color options. However, we also offer a paid upgrade service for custom colors in collaboration with KEZEWA.
Will a half-plate made of steel be available in the future?
Yes, that's possible.
Will the design files be made public?
Yes, the design files (for the plate and battery filler) will be released for download after the Group Buy (GB) is completed.
Can magnetic switches be used with a gasket ?
Yes. Our magnetic switch solution supports an adjustable actuation point with 0.01mm increments. While technically it can go lower, 0.01mm is a stable and practical value that represents the physical limit of what most people can perceive. Smaller increments would only create inconvenience when configuring in the software.
Do the magnetic switches support an 8K polling rate?
Yes, it is a true 8K polling rate. However, considering the varying quality of switches on the market, we have added an option to change the polling rate in the top-right corner of the configurator website. If you are using lower-quality magnetic switches, you can switch to a lower polling rate to calibrate and improve performance.
Why is there only a dual-mode (Wired + Bluetooth) version and not a tri-mode (Wired + Bluetooth + 2.4G) version?
Our current firmware is based on an open-source solution that does not include a 2.4G wireless component. We believe dual-mode meets the needs of the vast majority of users. Furthermore, this keyboard features an ultra-low-power design, making it exceptionally energy-efficient. (From personal experience, I often lose the 2.4G dongles anyway.)
How many rubber feet will be available fron this set?
Available in two height options: choose the taller rubber feet if you use a desk mat, or the shorter ones for direct placement on your desk
Does HE plate compatible with venom TKL HE PCB?
Yes, they are compatible
